Hello Committee!
I apologize if this is too much “cloak & dagger”, but I got the impression that discretion and privacy would be important to maintain in pursuit of the committee goal of getting maximum signatures on the petition without compromising the KCVA neutral position.
With that in mind, I used the past several days to find reasonably priced petition solutions, as well as a safe, secure, and easy- to-use private chat room to speak freely and share documents, pictures, or what have you, outside of any KCVA emails or the website.
This website is my own little playground; nobody knows of it, really. I test software here, and use it as needed for situations just like this. Along with the petition website used to promote, inform, and collect signatures/emails/phone #’s?, I recommend we use this website strictly for messaging each other. Its relative obscurity will provide adequate privacy and security.
- First things first – in order to be as discreet as possible, let’s all use personal emails (when an email is necessary) for correspondence. I am thinking the chat room I set up on this website will suffice, but things can change as we move forward. To that end, I have personal email addresses for Alma, Mariafernanda, and Luis; I do not have a personal email for Pablo. If one of you can get that to me, I will set up User Accounts on this website, which will keep our chat room completely private. We should avoid using emails/phone numbers associated with KCVA. For now, you can login to the chat room (Messages>Petition Chat Room on the nav menu) as a GUEST. Just give yourself a name. BTW, for me you can use: ro*********@***il.com; and 770-307-6668.
- Second, when I create the User Accounts, you will receive email confirmations, so don’t be surprised. You will be prompted to change your password; that’s your choice. For now, SW81AveCommittee is the password to view the page, and will be the pre-set password for your User Account, once I set those up. Having user accounts will further allow us to limit access to the private chat room. The chat room will keep a running thread of all our conversations, so we can always refer back to earlier posts.
- Please use the MESSAGES>PETITION CHAT ROOM page and enter as a GUEST for now. Once I have everyone’s email and set up the accounts, you can login using your User ID/password. The GUEST option can then be removed.
- You can also see, I set up a “demo” version of the petition page. This is a free version, so it does not have some important features yet, specifically the ability to sign the petition. That is included in the “pro” version, and it comes with a 3-day “money back”; but I didn’t want to waste those days while setting things up. It has not been “styled” either, that is to say, colors, fonts, the visual presentation, etc. That will come as we discuss the project further.
- At this point, I invite you to visit the MESSAGES>PETITION CHAT ROOM page, where we can continue to talk privately. Let me know if you have any problems getting logged in. You have my phone & email now.
